Benedetta Mori Ubaldini is a famous Italian sculptor born in Milan. She has studied and worked in London from 1991 to 2005 and in 1994 she got a fine art degree at the Middlesex University. Benedetta works with different kind of materials, but she is best known for her wire creations, made of mesh wire. Each piece starts life as industrially produced: rolled wire is gradually worked, transformed and handshaped, in order to obtain a seamless appearance. Benedetta Mori Ubaldini love to create evocative, symbolic and poetic pictures. The sculptures in mesh wire do not have an internal structure and therefore the play between presence and absence becomes the magical element of her works. Famous is her latest collaboration with the brands Magis Me Too, for which she created both “Birds” and “Clouds” collection, always based on mesh wire material.
